Coronavirus measures update 17th March 2020

Posted on: 17/03/2020 at 4:27pm

Natural Resources Wales, the land managers of Coed y Brenin Forest Park have today issued news that the Café and Visitor Centre at Coed y Brenin will close due to changes in government guidance around the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

While this closure will have an impact on the facilities available on site, the car parking and trails themselves will remain open for people to enjoy as usual. Parking at Coed y Brenin will be free of charge while the visitor centre remains closed. Cycling in the outdoors remains a low risk activity in terms of transmission of the virus but visitors to the trails should be mindful of the impact that increased pressures the pandemic is placing on medical and emergency services.

At present there is no requirement from government to close retail premises so the bike shop and hire service at Coed y Brenin remains open for visitors to the Forest Park.

The situation is changing rapidly so we will continue to monitor developments closely and will of course be putting in place some additional common sense measures in line with government guidance to ensure that we lower the risk of transmission. We have stepped up our cleaning and sanitisation routines and will be moving to contactless only payment (No cash) to reduce person to person contact between staff and customers. Our hire and workshop handover process have also been modified to include additional sanitisation measures.
