This route promises to be both mentally and physically demanding and should not be attempted unless fitness and skill levels allow.
The Beast is Coed y Brenin's longest and most demanding route and it lives up to it's name.
It's got the lot. Expect monster climbs, bone rattling descents, fast flowing singletrack, rock-drops, steps and stone pitch, all punctuated with epic views of the Southern Snowdonia mountains. One minute you'll be riding high on rock strewn slopes, the next plunging downhill among the emerald green tranquility of the forest.
The demanding nature of the terrain can mean that, for many, this trail will feel significantly longer and more challenging than its stats might indicate. So be warned, go well prepared with adequate fluids, food, clothing, tools and spares. Expect to come back tired, muddy and exhilarated!
Need to bail out? - There are shorts cuts back to the centre, should the weather close in, or in case bike/body decide to capitulate.
