Trails and Bike Shop Open on 6th July

We are pleased to announce that NRW have today confirmed that following the relaxation of travel restrictions by Welsh Government, most MTB trails and trail centres will reopen from 6th July.
From Monday 6th July, Coed y Brenin, car park, trails, visitor centre(limited services) and bike shop(limited services) will reopen. Beics Brenin hire services will return from Monday 13th July.
Behind the scenes at Beics Brenin we have been busy making preparations for reopening and are pleased to announce that the store will return to normal opening from Monday 6th July with bike hire services opening from the following weekend of 13th July (booking is open now).
Visitors will find new Covid19 safety measures in place and should expect some changes to layout and available services at the site.
On reopening, we will be limiting the number of persons in the store at any time in much the same way that visitors will already be familiar with. A queuing system will be in place for busy periods and a member of our staff will be positioned to direct customers at store entrance. Additional sanitation measures are being taken and we are currently not allowing customers to try on clothing, gloves or helmets before purchase. To assist with sizing clothing purchases, customers will find size guides and disposable tape measures and our normal return policy still applies.
Our hire services return from Monday 13th July with some important changes in place to make things as safe as possible, the most important being that We are currently unable to supply loan helmets with hire bikes due to difficulties in adequately sanitising these between users. Anyone hiring a bike from us MUST SUPPLY THEIR OWN HELMET. Helmets remain mandatory for use with our hire bikes and anyone hiring will be asked to show a suitable, well fitting helmet before hire bikes are issued. A limited range of helmets is available to purchase from our store but we strongly advise customers to bring their own to avoid any risk of disappointment.
Bikes should be booked online via beicsbrenin.co.uk and our hire day will now run from 9.30am to 4pm.
Our workshop services are suspended at present in order to allow our staff the time to undertake the additional tasks that are now required to keep our shop, hire and work area Covid Safe. We will keep this under review and hope to restore normal service as soon as we can. We advice anyone planning on visiting Coed y Brenin to thoroughly check their bike or have it serviced professionally before visiting to in an effort to avoid any mechanical issues as we regret that we will not be able to attend to these in store at present.
Loan tools are available on site and anyone using these should sanitise them appropriately before use.
Natural Resources Wales have issued some helpful guidance to assist people in planning and making the most of their visit:
For a safe and enjoyable experience, follow these six steps:
1. PLAN AHEAD
Be aware that our visitor centre buildings, cafés, play areas and some toilet facilities are not open yet.
2. KEEP YOUR DISTANCE
Make every effort to maintain the required social distance on our trails.
Take time to read the guidance for each site on our website.
Follow the advice on signs at each location – this will differ from site to site.
3. PARK RESPONSIBLY
Respect the local community by parking responsibly at designated car parks.
Do not park on verges or block emergency access routes.
4. BE PATIENT AND RESPECTFUL
Some sites may be busier than others so be prepared to return home and come back at a quieter time.
5. TREAD LIGHTLY
Respect the plants and wildlife which has thrived over recent weeks.
6. FOLLOW THE COUNTRYSIDE CODE
Follow paths where possible, keep dogs under control, take litter home, leave gates as you find them and don’t block entrances or gateways.
