Trek Coed y Brenin Enduro 2017

Saturday September 30th / Sunday October 1st 2017

Looking for a challenge to round out your season? There are still spaces left for all distance categories of the Trek Bicycle Coed y Brenin Enduro on 30th September/1st October. Take on 17,21 or 49km of a hand picked selection of the finest trails that Coed y Brenin Forest Park and the surrounding area have to offer. It’s the event that Singletrack Mountain Bike Magazine described as “a connoisseur’s pick of the best natural and built trails” (Editor’s Choice). The routes increase in technical difficulty with distance, starting with the 17km ‘Temtiwr’ enduro on Blue and red trails, the 21km on Red with some Black grade trails and and 49km including Coed y Brenin’s latest challenging black, ‘Y Slab’ (The Slab). For the first time the event includes an eBike class (taking on the 21km route, restricted to 1 battery/charge).

Offering a packed weekend of riding with something for all the family, there is also a free to enter kids “Nippers n’Rippers” enduro (Saturday), Retro Revolution Race (Saturday) open to all standard MTB’s with riders 16+ – An off road individual time trial on Coed y Brenin’s oldest and best loved trail that includes a very modern twist in the shape of it’s newest trail section ‘Y Slab’. It’s a. race against the clock and your peers, with a special class for those brave enough to be riding a pre 1997 retro/classic MTBs). On Saturday the visitor centre will also play host to the Retro Revolution Classic/Retro bike show and in the evening, a film Screening.

Coed y Brenin is the UK’s original trail centre and offers the perfect destination to finish off a great season of riding. The forest park and it’s all weather trails offer superb riding with, weather permitting, some spectacular views of the mountains of Southern Snowdonia. The visitor centre provides the hub for the weekend’s activities and offers a Cafe, Bike shop (Beics Brenin), with showers and changing area. There are running trails, walking trails and a children’s play area. You’ll also find our stands from our event partners, Clif, Muc-Off and Trek displaying some of their fine products.

The event is the largest cycle event in Coed y Brenin’s mountain biking year and one part of the 3 MTB endurance challenges that Dyfi Events organise each year, the other two being the Feb/March Coed y Brenin Antifreeze (http://www.dyfievents.com/events/antifreeze/) and the Dyfi Enduro (http://www.dyfievents.com/events/dyfi-enduro/) held on the early May bank holiday weekend. So if you are looking for an epic MTB challenge that combines great trails with superb scenery and good company, why not set yourself the goal to tackle all three in 2018?
